1.What are the beliefs behind Wai Kru Ceremony?

 The Wai Kru Ceremony is a good tradition of Thai students which students can express the gratitude and pay respect to their teachers. In addition, Wai Kru Ceremony is held on Thursday of each year. Thai people called that “Wan Wai Kru” or “Wai Kru Day”. The beliefs of behide Wai Kru Ceremony, we believed that “Kru” or teacher likes as the second mother or father, who gives some knowledge and experiences to the students. So, if we pay respect our teachers, our lives are happy. Moreover, the tradition of Wai Kru uses some flowers which are good symbolics to show the student qualities such as Dok Kem,Dok Ma Krue, Ya Praek and Khao Tok. Each flowers presented the good meaning. Dok Kem or the West Indian jasmine flower means that intelligence. Dok Ma Krue or the eggplant flower means that students pay respect to teacher as when the eggplant flower is in bloom, it bends down. Ya Praek or Bermuda grass means to be patient person, because the grass can grow every areas. The last one, Khao Tok or popped rice shows discipline because when the rice is cooked in the pan, it blooms white color. This is meaning that teacher can train students to develop into good people. In my opinion, all flowers can give the teacher to pay respect, because I understand the important role of teacher. It is a fact that teacher is benefactor as the second mother and father. In conclusion, the Wai Kru Ceremony is an important day for Thai students since childhood until adulthood.
