HALLOWEEN FESTIVEL

Each year on October 31, people all over the United States celebrate Halloween. Children and adults alike dress in costumes and attend parties, visit haunted houses, and eat plenty of Halloween candy. Most kids spend the night “trick-or-treating”, or going door-to-door to collect candy from their friendly neighbors. Although we see Halloween as a fun time, it wasn’t always perceived that way. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred.
