The Obon Festival is the one of the biggest of festivals
The Obon festival is one of Japan’s largest and most significant religious events. Obon is a ceremonial custom which dates back some 500 years. This is a Japanese holiday that honors the dead. During this time, people return to their hometowns to pay respects to their ancestors.
Traditionally speaking, Obon includes a classic dance, referred to as Bon-Odori and lanterns are hung outside of homes. Food offerings are also presented at house altars and temples in honor.
Obon, A beautiful celebration of ancestors “Bon in August” will be celebrated between August 13-16, 2021.
