Halloween!
It was known as All Hallows’ Eve (October 31). On that day we must pay our respects to the saint.
The name was eventually shortened to “Halloween,” which we know and love to this day.
Until the 7th century, Halloween fell on May 13. Finally, Pope Boniface IV called for the change of observance to the current November 1.
