Songkran is an important and long-established tradition, presumably a traditional Indian tradition. It was later expanded to local areas including Laos, Khmer, Myanmar, China and Thailand. However, it has been modified to be somewhat different from the original ceremony. Patterns and behaviors In Thailand There is no clear evidence of when songkran has been held since, but it is considered april 13th of every year as Songkran Day.
